B I G

This seems to be the only way to go.

Just when I was going to blog about my favourite month of pregnancy, the discomforts of pregnancy started to catch up with me. Don’t get me wrong. I am TOTALLY NOT COMPLAINING! I still love being preggy but I guess pregnancy discomforts are inevitable and definitely part of the package. Hey! It’s been a pleasant ride so far: no morning sickness, no bad back pains, no extreme mood swings and no massive weight gain. So… No complaints. Hihihi.

These recent observations just amazed me.

FIRST: Today, I noticed that my feet seemed to be struggling to stay within the confines of my shoes! Mind you, I am already wearing 1 size bigger than my pre-pregnancy size. At this rate, I might have to purchase shoes 1 size larger. Waaahh! To think I just bought 3 shoes with this size in colours & styles that I thought would suit the few clothes I have left. :sigh: What’s funny is most people I know complain of bloated feet meaning WIDE while others don’t get such significant change with their feet. My feet seems to be too unconventional that it grows lengthwise and not the more common width-wise. Ah well.

NEXT: 2 weeks ago, I started to notice that my nose started to look big to me when I looked in the mirror. It was only last week when Jinky, actually Phil, noticed it from my pictures at Diyel’s baptism. :boohoo: To think I really ‘made up’ myself that day as I wanted people to see me look my best during pregnancy of course. I enjoyed having my pic taken even only to realize after that I really shouldn’t have. Hehehe. Ah well! Who cares?! For our bebi… anything! CONSOLATION: Someone told me I looked good at Diyel’s Christening. Hehehe… :kikay:

At Angelique’s Christening, I tried to avoid having any photo taken but I didn’t want to be called “maarte or KJ” so I just somehow tried to pose at a certain angle where the whole nose and face is not fully visible! Hahaha. VANITY VANITY!!! Result: Couldn’t hide my bloated body & face. Nyahahahaha!

LAST but definitely not the least, obviously one thing is for sure… my tummy will get B I G ’ger. It has grown quite a lot since I entered my 5th & 6th month. Although, I still get people telling me that my tummy doesn’t look at all like it’s 6 months pregnant. :woohoo: Hurrah! But really… it has grown so much. I am already having difficulty getting out of bed and sometimes turning can get a bit tricky as, of course, I have to take care of my tummy. The clothes I have been wearing at home are all shrinking (so I like to think! Hahaha). I keep checking myself in the mirror at home and see how much my tummy has grown. It’s just so fascinating!

Well, out of these 3 and many others that I’d rather not talk about hehehe, there is one B I G thing that simply overshadows all of them and always brings a B I G smile or even a giggle from me…. That is Baby’s More active and pronounced movements throughout the day. It can totally turn my mood 180 degrees! Nothing else comes close… for now. :kindat:

I must have over-exerted myself last week and throughout the weekend.  By Saturday, I was already feeling some pain under my belly when I walked.  So at around 3pm hubby & I went home and left the rest of the family at DFC (Dubai Festival City).

Well, let’s look at how that day went.  You’ll understand why I was drained by 3pm!

Hubby & I went for the 6am mass that day as this is the coolest time to go, then proceeded to the blessing of our homes by Fr. Arnel.  Afterwards, we went straight to the Al Badae Clinic to register for my delivery in Al Wasl (Yes, Al Wasl… this is another post).  I was already starving by this time so hubby & I proceeded to Coco’s where we had a very heavy breakfast.  Then, we picked up his brothers to drop them off at City Centre where Arnie will go for his first interview on the other side of the road.  I did some shopping for maternity pants at New Look.  It was on Sale surprisingly, the maternity pants I mean.  Normally, they are not included in the Sale.  Anyway, after buying some pants, a top & a size bigger shoes (sigh!), we then went to watch Wanted.  WHAT A RUSH!  I absolutely loved it - the stunts, the cinematography and Fox’s femme fatale character.  I am a sucker for “Bad Girls”. Hahaha.  I insisted on this in spite of all the hype about Dark Knight.  I really don’t like Batman.  I might watch it on DVD just for Heath.  Heath, I am a fan of.

Well, after that movie, we were off to DFC where the rest of the family were waiting for us to have our “Saturday Family time”.  We probably just stayed for half an hour.  I had to say bye already coz I was feeling ever so sleepy already and hungry.

When we got home, I immediately slept and only got up to eat some “supposedly” lunch at 3:30pm.  I was in bed the rest of the time, with my feet up.  I was so uncomfortable that night, I had a hard time getting the right position to sleep.  Poor hubby di rin makatulog kasi worried sya baka may nararamdaman ako na hindi ko sinasabi.

Hmmm… It’s holiday this Thursday.  Hubby & rest of the gang (his brothers & cousin) plan to go around and take pics.  Sama pa rin ako.  Pero mostly sitting down siguro.  Want to pasyal.  Nagiging gala na si Baby… mana kay Mamy Mae.  Gotta get lotsa rest this week!!!  Kulet noh?!

P.S.  I will post a preggy pic update in a private album.  Magugulat kayo at malaki na tummy ko! Hihihihi.

ang kwento…

So this is how I should post videos here… through my Multiply!!! If I knew that when I wrote this post, I would’ve made more kwento. Anyway, I think now I will do that.

I took Sunday off (it is the first day of the work week in this part of the world) so that I can also work on changing my passport to my married name. Also, it is the first time in 2 months, since Karen took maternity leave, that I am off work. I left home for the Consulate as early as 7am. We got stuck in unexpected traffic due to a very tragic car accident. Anyway, we got there and we waited for the people to come in at 8:30am. I didn’t know that when I pass my application for new passport it was just a schedule for encoding in my details on a much later date after which I will have to wait a month to get my new MRP (Machine Readable Passport). I could’ve gone the other way of asking this person we know inside to get me an amended but non-MRP type. I honestly hate asking people favors. Even more when I am not close to that person. I decided to just wait and do things properly. At the end of the day, at least I get the more high-tech MRP to travel around with. hehehe. So much for changing passport & visa in next week. Gotta play the waiting game for now. Sigh. Oh the main decision making reason for me to not wait anymore was that I was already hungry. I only had a yoghurt that morning and I didn’t think that waiting there to get a chance to have my passport encoded early, in the humid heat that morning was worth risking harming my baby. :)

So…off to Ate Reg’s place for some heavy breakfast! hehehe. Had the pleasure of taking a nap too in spite of the noisy kiddies around… Then, wake up to laing for lunch… then a quick hair trim which I’ve been wanting to do… It was then already1:45pm when we left and we had to pass by home to get my ultrasound appointment papers for 3pm! To endure the heat really… UGH!

Thanks to Papi. We got there in time. Hubby was at work and unfortunately had a “take-it-or-get-hassled” schedule of medical for his visa at 4pm! His office is around 30 minutes away from the hospital. There was was no one else waiting at the Diagnostics so I was brought for ultrasound immediately. I was already laying in bed with the doctor in the room when hubby called that he is nearby. I requested the doctor to do the other checking first and put the gender thing last. Hubby came in after maybe 5 minutes of the ultrasound and didn’t miss much.

The doctor did put the gender thing last… I was nervous about whether it’s a boy or girl… Well, we were smiling from ear to ear when she said (and we saw) our baby is a girl! We were just in cloud 9 when we left the hospital. Hubby rushed to his medical while Papi and I went home.

The first thing I did before leaving the hospital was buy a banana carrot muffin as I felt hungry from all the excitement. My appetite have been amazing these days that nothing seem to keep me from being hungry after an hour only! Hehehe…

Well, I was so knackered when we got home but of course, I couldn’t help but post the result here still. hehehe. Thanks everyone for sharing in our excitement and for your comments. :) Hugz!

I have so much kwento about how exciting it was for both of us and hubby really made it a point to be there even though all odds were against him… I even have short clips of our princess that I wanted to share but finding the right way to post it really irritated me so… I lost my mood to blog… well, this will have to do for now.

Sorry Beau… you will have to be like you dad “idol” - the only thorn among the roses. ;)

wait extended…

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

We have been waiting for our 20th week consultation because we thought this was the time when we will find out whether our baby is a boy or a girl. I guess our baby felt this and thought teasing us to wait further would be a fun thing to do… tsk tsk tsk! Naughty naughty!

Our doctor did try. I even kept talking to baby to be nice and cooperate with the doctor so that we get good pics. I guess our baby had something else in mind. Look at the position it decided to take.

20-weeks

Paper & elements from Andrea Dickinson’s Berry Fabulous Kit.

Our doctor did try but it kept moving into “photo-unfriendly” positions. Camera shy yata si baby! hehehe. So she just scheduled us for an Ultrasound wherein baby will be checked in detail. For sure malalaman namin if we’ll be buying things in blues & greens or yellow & pink. The only catch…it’s another 2 weeks to wait! She said it’s better to wait para mas malaki na si baby and it will be a good time to see in detail.

Funny realization: After that appointment (it was at 9am), it seemed like my tummy just grew and kept growing throughout the day. Parang hinintay lang makita namin tapos ayun parang hinipan na me. This morning, I was feeling the pain of stretched skin on the sides of my tummy. Now, I know how it feels when Karen complained of sitting too much! Oh another funny thing, while I was walking to Ayhie’s office, I kept seeing my tummy bouncing. hahaha… Needs support that bump. :)

Till next time!!!
