Spring Cleaning in Summer

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Last weekend, hubby and I scheduled the full organizing and sorting of all our stuff in the room. With baby’s arrival coming close, we realized our need to buy a new cabinet to give way for baby’s things. Before we go and purchase a new cabinet, we needed to sort our things our first. We went through all our clothes and set aside those that we have not been using for a while. In the end I was able to compile 2 ½ large bags of clothes that I don’t use anymore. This is not because I am preggy!

Finally, I have let go of favourite pieces that I don’t really wear or are actually crying out loud to be replaced. I felt such a liberating feeling after that. I was able to free up so much space to put baby’s current stuff (the hand-me-downs from Diyel and Karen) and have space for more clothes for me! Woohoo! This means shopping! Hahahaha!

I transferred our shoes in a shelf by the hallway and organized it Maeyo way. This meant that I organized hubby’s shoes where all black coloured shoes together, then the whites, silver and high cut ones. :kikay: Since I didn’t have as many shoes, I put all my shoes in 1 shelf and just used a cloth divider I bought from IKEA ages ago. At least, my fancy shoes don’t get dirty…hehehehe. I was able to discard some shoes as well. Really, I keep shaking my head telling myself “what dust collectors and space hoggers these are!”.

After the clothes and shoes, I went straight to the Papers. Gosh! This I had loads to sort. I remember dumping papers into a small cabinet telling myself “I will sort them accordingly someday.” Finally, that someday arrived and I discarded maybe 5 medium sized bags of junk! I did this last Saturday and Yesterday. The amount of paper I accumulated is mind-boggling! Ah well.

Tonight, I will be sorting out one of my camera box. I’m sure there are junk there too.

I absolutely love organizing things. I am OCD like that but nothing extreme.

Birthday ni Ninang Poidy…

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Mahryska said to us last Saturday that she will be passing by our place yesterday, her ACTUAL birthday. We were surprised because we didn’t think that she didn’t have any plans for her birthday that she said she will drop off something.

Karen & I prepared a surprise mini-feast for her with some pansit & ice cream cake, plus got her a gift too. BUT I guess she really had other plans and forgot about it because she didn’t show up and even turned off her phone. She couldn’t be contacted. Anyway, it would be sad to waste such yummy food. So Diyel celebrated for her Ninang Poidy. She celebrated her 3rd month a day early and did the blowing and cutting of the yummy yummy ice cream cake. Yippeee!!!

She was extra jolly that day because she absolutely loved her new bouncer. Also, she was smiling a lot which brought such delight to all of us!

So to Ninang Poidy… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

When she moved…

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

I think the most exciting part of pregnancy is feeling your baby move inside of you.  I often find myself giggling in joy when I feel her move at night.

I feel her movement the strongest when I am lying in bed and when she is enjoying the music I am playing to her.

Hubby and I normally put one hand each on my tummy while we pray before sleeping.  The other night, we were doing this and baby moved so strongly against hubby’s hand.  You should’ve seen the smile on his face and how he laughed in joy!  It was the first time that he felt her move that strongly.  He felt slight movements before but last night was the best!  She often moves like that when it’s late at night and I am already on the verge of sleeping or when I happen to lie on my back for a while.  I think she changes position when that happens.

Anyway, just thought I share this exciting time. :partey:  At least, someday, I will have somewhere to refer to.

In the mood…

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

I have been wanting to blog about so many things but never really had the inspiration nor the mood to actually put them into a post… Yesterday…. I came up with 3! Whoa!!!  Ang saya saya!  I must’ve been inspired by baby’s active moving all day!  Absolutely love it when she moves so much!!!  It is so re-assuring!  An absolute thrill for me.

Watch out for the scheduled posts!  I didn’t want to post them all in one go… what will I do when blogging doesn’t interest me?! Hehehe..

So I missed driving pala…

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Today, I had a very inconvenient errand to run.  I convinced hubby that it is ok that I drive and do it myself.  I told him that I totally understand that his work needs him right now and that he cannot drive me there.  I kept re-assuring him that I have been driving for 10 years with a manual transmission and driving an automatic will definitely be a breeze.

I guess, he is just so concerned that I will be driving on my own and whilst pregnant.  Even Karen offered to do the errand for me as she is nearer to it than me coming from the office.

I had to re-assure both of them that I can do this and it is ok.

It’s the first time since we bought Cali (our Dodge Caliber… I just named it that whilst typing this post! Hahaha) that I drove it on my own.  I remember the second time I drove it after months of no driving, I was unusually nervous.  All my life I am known for being “malakas ang loob” or a fighter against my fears.  Anyway, since then, I didn’t dare drive.  I figured it’s the pregnancy that’s making me nervous so I didn’t think ever driving again until after my delivery.

Today…. Whilst driving, I realized how much I DO miss driving.  For a girl who absolutely loves being in control, I forgotten that driving is an ultimate “control” and therefore, as blissful as having a deep dark chocolate dessert after a sumptuous meal.  I can’t seem to enjoy chocolates these days… so at least, I discovered that I can get that bliss from driving. :inlove:

Well, I think it will be a while until hubby lets me drive on my own again. Hehehe… so it was great that I got to enjoy it today!  It sure was a nice discovery… that I just miss driving pala… :boogie:
