in Transit…

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Soon I will be in my destination. I have so much I want to blog about but really I am dead tired.

Wish me luck! Tomorrow is the start of my mission. Hope things go well. Wishing that we will only bring back great news.

Tired… tired… so dead tired.

Cat is out of the bag

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

I didn’t want the world to know (well, all the people we know I mean) of our upcoming trip. It is not a vacation but more like an emergency leave. It seems no one else shared my preference for privacy or secrecy. Sheesh! I only confided the real reason for this leave to my family, my best friend Tina (who helped me make arrangements) and another good friend Yevka who we were suppose to meet en route. Last Thursday, Yevka surprisely popped up at Beau’s Christening. So, my planned surprise photo with her has gone down the drain. Yesterday, at Mami’s birthday party everyone (absolutely EVERYONE) asked us about the trip. Sigh. So, we had no choice to tell everyone about it. Ah well. So the cat is now out of the bag. (shrug)

I guess, I can share my tini-tiny-bit of excitement over this trip. Aside from it being a necessity, it’s also a much needed time outta this place which I have been begging hubby to share with me but with his hectic schedules, it just was impossible. The last time we had a proper holiday was when we went on leave for our wedding (which was DEFINITELY NOT even a holiday!!! It was so hectic that we needed a holiday from that holiday.).

Anyway, all plans changed. I just hope this trip goes well. I wish that when we come back, we will only carry great news and fun stories to tell everyone. :)

Routine is not in my blood…

Monday, March 24th, 2008

For as long as I can remember, I have been trying to put a certain routine or system to manage my life. I have tried many. Succeeded in some and others… well, I just started them. That’s all it was. I guess I have a serious case of what Pinoy call « Lingas Kugon ». This is a person’s tendency to start things while they are exciting and once the sizzle stops, leaves it for something new and exciting. Gosh ! I am terribly guilty of this ! I definitely won’t say that I do not have the discipline to make things work. Sheesh ! I can go cold turkey on anything I put my mind into !!! I’ve done that many times. I would even challenge myself by putting myself in a situation where it becomes harder to resist to test myself. Sadist ei ?!

Yet… I still haven’t found any system to keep as a habit. I know someone who is amazing at this. My sis. She has such a healthy routine and keeps at it too without a problem. She wakes up early in the morning. Drinks her milk. Make breakfast. Be ready to work on time. Eat cereals when we reach the office. Sheesh ! I think I can only do that once and then the next day, it will definitely be different !!! Waaahhh !!!

My greatest aspiration right now is to be a successful homemaker (a loving wife & super mother). In order to get anywhere close to that I will have to create a routine that would benefit me and my family enormously. I cannot live on whims and moods anymore. I really would love to pursue cooking. I want to apply creativity into it. Oh and hopefully impress hubby who is an amazing cook ! So without a certain routine or system, this will not be achievable. ?

I have tried keeping To Do Lists. You should see what I do at work. My colleague said, it looks like a lesson plan. Hahaha. Unfortunately, time comes when I loose interest in it and it ends up « something to do later on ». I keep a list of reminders in my phone too but sometimes I put it in a sort of « snooze » and then forget about it. BAD !! BAD !!

So let’s see. Right now, I would like to create a Routine that I will make 10 times the effort to keep and create a habit of. I thought that letting some people (my blog readers specifically :D) know about it will help me remain working on it.

It takes 3 weeks to create a habit so I will need the whole of April for this Challenge. Wish me luck !!!
