regret

In my learning and research process, I stumbled upon this post Blogger vs. Wordpress and it made me think hard.

I have had so much dilemma because of Wordpress’ restrictions (Cbox, Themes, and other third party widgets).  It was because of the recent news that they have started to delete blogs that practice pro-blogging (paid or sponsored posts) that I fully regretted transferring to Wordpress.  It was something that I was considering before but now have to look for other options like own domain & hosting in order to make the most of blogging.

Blogger has changed since I left it.  It’s getting a bit similar to Wordpress except it still gives its users freedom to edit the CSS template, add 3rd party widgets and get this, free domain mapping!!!

Alright…alright… it hasn’t been that bad.  In fairness, Wordpress takes care of its users.  The dashboard is so user-friendly and simple.  They have so many templates to choose from.  I guess they have a reason for restricting widgets…especially for those who don’t really know how harmful they can be.

So, should I shift? We’ll see.

Ohhhh… I had to read the article to be sure, but for a moment there I thought you meant that Wordpress doesn’t allow you to change the templates and etc - when that’s what I’ve been doing ALL this time lol not by much but just little tweaks to header images and maybe any other associated graphics here and there. But I realise now that you mean that they dashboard itself doesn’t allow you to do it… I’ve had a website since 1998 and I’ve had both Blogger sites and Wordpress sites and I could not be happier with Wordpress - I’m not sure if it’s because I have more HTML experience? I’m not quite sure what it is that you’re unhappy with… *shrug*

I’m sad to see you know… I check your blog at least 3 times a day so needless to say, I will be going through withdrawal for sure. At least promise you’ll update your facebook site often???

    Hi Sweetie.

I am not talking about tweaks and slight adjustments. I am talking about creating my own layout, every now and again which I used to do quite often with my Blogger account. With that I became quite good with HTML because I learned it through creating different templates customized to my preference. This is what I can’t do here. Furthermore, I have an account with Wordpress.com and not .org, therefore it is very limited. If I upgrade, I can only tweak the CSS and cannot totally have a new template. waaahhh!

I will continue blogging that is why I posted the “Temporary Break from Blogging”. I just need to sort out where my blog will be residing and stuff like that.

I am sure loving the learning curve on hosting, website design and all the technicalities. Watch out for my New & Improved blog though! :)

It’s going to be <b>FANTABULOUSO!!!!</b> (winx)
