it’s Better to Bless - DAY 2

Thanks Yevka for sharing this to me…

It’s only Day 2 and already I see what this is all about. It is a learning experience. I already feel much lighter than ever!

In Day 1, the main topic was about MENTAL LABELLING. How much of this I do?! How much of it affects everything I do & experience?! It’s mindboggling coz it almost rules me. When I became aware of this, it changed how my day went.

Honestly, yesterday, I was somewhat skeptic but I was determined to take on this challenge so I set the Circle of Blessing Meditation & Blessing for the Day as part of my daily morning routine for the next 30 days. Having my new phone helps big time coz I read the Blessing for the Day email from it and listen to the Circle of Blessing Meditation on the way to work. Nag-dadrive na ulit si Tita Kay so I get to do this na!

I observed myself the whole day. I felt so much lighter. I felt so much happier. I was more responsive & interactive with people. I felt great. I wanted to rave about this yesterday but I thought that it was too early.

So today, unfortunately, we had to come to work an hour earlier than normal. I didn’t get the email in time so I wasn’t able to do the set routine. Plus my alarm was set for our normal timings. YET…. I didn’t forget what lesson I learned from DAY 1. I carried the spirit of blessing the whole day. It’s surprising to think about it. When I got home today and read the actual Blessing for the Day, I was surprised coz I seemed to have learned what she said there during the day. I was in sync!

Here’s my favorite part of it that I felt like sharing with you…

As writer and teacher Walter Starcke points out, everything we
experience has a purpose for being present in our lives or it
wouldn’t be there. Even the roughest spots in our lives serve a
purpose. We have these experiences in order to reveal, as Starcke
points out, “something that would make us become more fully
conscious beings.”

Our problem, however, is that more often than not, we label
something as bad, or unpleasant or unwanted and then push it as far
away from us as we can, refusing to even think about it. Especially
those of us who have followed the teachings of the positive thought
movement. We try constantly to remove ourselves completely from
every negative. In so doing, however, we literally shut ourselves
off from the information the negativity has come to reveal. In the
end this doesn’t help us at all. By ignoring the negative, we don’t
even get rid of it, because it will keep returning again and
again, through repeated experiences, until we are finally willing
to look past the mask of negativity to discover its purpose for
being in our lives.

“I am willing to see the good in every experience.”

When I wrote this comment on Poidy’s post today, I realized that I was blessing her… which made me feel fulfilled today.

I also had a meaningful conversation with 2 separate persons today in which I was actually helping them find the good side or a way into looking at a difficult person in the office. Instead of judging or labelling her, it is best to try to understand why she acts that way. I felt that I somehow created a more blessed / positive vibe into our conversation… and it left me with a light feeling which before would’ve been a heavy, dark & frustrated feeling. Ste-by-step I am taking the right path. I am learning.

Oh…and today, I received a beautiful message from an unknown number (It was Chilitz. Since I have a new phone, I haven’t had the chance to put in my full phonebook!). It inspired me even more in such a hectic day at work.

Let me share with you this beautiful prayer i just rcvd..

Dear God,

Most of us always desire a perfect situation, a perfect life. Yet, You, my Lord, do not grant a perfect life. What You give instead is a perfect heart in the midst of an imperfect life. Teach me to be cheerful, hopeful, smiling amidst imperfections and to enjoy Your wondrous blessings every moment in time. Amen. Gudam n have a gud day! Ü

Well, it truly has been a blessed day!

I will leave you with this Today’s Heartfelt Blessing

IMPOSSIBILITY - Act as if it were impossible to fail.

— Dorothea Brande

And quite often it will be.

May you always be willing to push past your fear of the impossible.

And may you always be aware that you are loved beyond measure
and a cherished blessing to me.

Until tomorrow, may you be blessed
with all things good,

Kate Nowak

    Hi Maeyo,

Great to know the blessing challenge is going around and I am glad to see it is working out for you. The key is really awareness. I am halfway there but I think I might have to restart my challenge for January… hehehe. hope all is well. Spread the goodness!
