I can’t believe that it has been well… 9 months that I am preggy. How time flies! There are so many things I so want to do after I deliver. When Karen was at her last stages of pregnancy she had a list of things she wanted to eat after. For me, being the vain one, I have a list of things I want to be done.
During Karen’s pregnancy, her love for food was the first thing that went that is why her frustration for it grew for 9 months. It seemed her baby got the appetite and taste of her dad who is not so into food like Karen is. Understandably, her “Post-pregnancy” list would be filled with food she didn’t get to enjoy while she was preggy.
For me, the first thing that I had to give up for my baby was my vanity. I used to be at the salon at least once a month for my regular treats. I can stay there and be pampered for hours…sometimes almost a whole day! hehehe. When I first discovered I was preggy, I read and read articles on the dos and don’ts. I researched into the everything which eventually led me to cross out almost every single toiletry I use and treatments I get. I was forced to go “low maintenance” mode. I didn’t mind at all as I was far more concerned about baby’s health and well being.
Anyway, I was thinking about the things I miss and hopefully, I can get a chance to do after I deliver… well, of course, still need to consider the Do’s and Don’ts when breastfeeding.
On top of my list would be having my hair treated like it used to be. This would include going back to my mahogany-red-brown hair colour, hair spa treatment and regular trim/styling. Actually, during the first few months of pregnancy I visited the hairdressers for haircuts. I don’t know but I had a preference for shorter hair that time. My once always shoulder length (or longer) hair was cut to just slightly-below chin lengths.
Next thing I am dying to do is go for a glycolic peel facial. I read that this is safe during pregnancy but I really would rather not risk it. Plus, I’ll have hubby on my case too if I even consider it. I just miss the clean smooth feeling and the glow that I get after. Hmm… I think I would consider this first and then the hair second.
Following this would be go on a diet. I need to loose the extra pounds gained during pregnancy without the use of diet pills. I hope I can still do this. You know it gets harder to loose weight as we get older as our metabolism slows down, furthermore, after having babies they say it’s even harder. I will have to apply major discipline and determination on this one!
I should just think of the nice new clothes I am getting… gotta look great in them… be a yummy mummy as I always dreamed to be.
Standing next in line would be have a proper foot spa. People told me that when you’re pregnant you should not have a foot spa. Apparently, you are risking having a nerve or something in your feet touched that could cause you to miscarry or whatever. I remember that I only have a pedicure twice during the whole pregnancy because hubby is worried that I could be endangering baby. All preggy ladies I know have pedicures so I fought for it… I insisted that I wasn’t having a footspa anyway.
I will love going back to my usual toiletries and feel myself again. Question is, will my skin go back to how it was pre-pregnancy? OR do I have to undergo another search for the “right” products for my skin again as it might not respond to those that I used before…
