I didn’t used to care about the financial crisis or the rise of prices or what nots. Well, I hate watching the news. It’s only recently that I am home (working) most of the time that I do watch the news now. I just found the news always depressing and sometimes even gets me more paranoid whenever I go home in Pinas.
Anyway, the recent and still ongoing financial crisis in the US is something that has found its way to me. I normally wouldn’t care less but it’s just that it hit the life insurance businesses. When the closure of Life insurance company was rumored around hubby immediately called me and asked about the plan I had there. This alone got me worried but it was such wrong timing. This was the time when I have visited the Emergency in the Hospital twice so really, the last thing I wanted to be was stressed. I was worried and prayerfully hoped that things will go well because that was hard-earned money! It’s not like I can just get that in a day or even a year.
This passed after watching the re-assurance from the company in Philippines that they were stable and just changing ownership.
The other day, a friend called about a life insurance in Dubai that I didn’t think was connected to this same group. When we had our life insurance quote last year, it seemed like it was the best approach as we were looking forward to having something for our growing family. We even thought that by the time it is complete, our kids’ education can be taken cared of. We may even have some for retirement. Sigh.
Yesterday, I heard in the news about companies like Cemex in Philippines downsizing due to this crisis. It seems a lot of businesses in Philippines are affected. :shutup: Waaahhh… I just don’t want to get depressed. This is why I hate watching the news!
