You know what, just like me, Mami’s blood sugar levels were higher than normal on her check up 2 weeks ago.  Add to this her blood pressure and cholesterol levels were up as well. Therefore, Mami and I had to undergo a dietary change.  Even hubby’s weekend cooking had to adjust to our diet.  He had to switch to healthy grilling methods and abandon the frying.  The method ook longer but I didn’t mind the taste at all.  I felt the taste was better specially when the meat was well marinated.  Moreover, I love that I didn’t feel that awkward feeling of having oily lips because of eating fried foods.  Also, I was happy that they’re all joining me in eating salads, yoghurt, bran flakes with fresh fruit, brown bread and low fat stuff.  I remember before how my dad and hubby were about low fat products and skimmed milk.  Now, they have a much better appreciation for these healthier alternatives.  Although, of course, hubby and I would still eat some occassional naughty foods like the binagoongang baboy (pork with shrimp paste) which I totally miss…but then that has to wait till after I deliver.  No bagoong (shrimp paste) for baby! :belat:
