FOOD!!!

You know what is the greatest irony of the last 2 months of my pregnancy?!  I have the healthiest appetite now but I cannot eat those that I crave for!!!  :waah: Now I think is the time that even baby gets to taste the food because when I eat something really yummy, she moves a lot and seemingly enjoys the food with me.

Last month, my blood sugar went up due to gestational diabetes.  It’s the type of diabetes that happens only during pregnancy.  By nature, I have always loved desserts specially the rich chocolate and creamy kind.  Now, because of that sugar rise I am ordered to stay away from sweets.  All the sugar I can have are the natural kind: from fruits.  I don’t mind that at all it’s just that I am really craving for some Baskin Robbins Banana Royale and Chowking Halo Halo.  I used to have one of these at least once a week before my sugar went up. :groovy:   Now that I can’t have it, the craving for it is just so much stronger.  I went for another blood test today. The last one came normal.  I hope this one too!

To make matters worse, last month also, when my sugar went up I was also told to diet as I was gaining an extra 1kg more than required for 2 months!  :whew:  So, my doc sent me to the dietitian.  I had to eat salads, brown bread, brown rice, and low fat everything!!!  Thank goodness that in my last appointment 10 days ago, my doc told me to increase my food intake as I didn’t gain any weight at all last time. :partey: And she said, that baby is seemingly smaller than it’s gestational age.  So eat more I did!!! :boogie:

Sigh.  If only I am not so disciplined with what I eat, then my naturally healthy appetite but my preggy appetite would take over.  By then,  I doubt that even the best appetite suppressant can tame me! hahahaha.  Good thing I am more conscious of gaining weight and feeding baby too much unhealthy foods.  Otherwise, I would be as big as a whale with my appetite! Hubby even told me during the early days of our marriage that my appetite is much healthier that his! hahahaha :pito:

    athan was the same. there was one time i was eating flakes (cadbury–ssoooo divine!) 30 minutes later my stomach moving and bumping! gosh! ang weird tignan! LOL! napapa galaw ako sa sobrang likot! :hala:

    and i was the same thing as you when i was on my 6th month… i gained 10lbs in a matter of 2 weeks! and i was just eating fruits! i was really bloated! and the entire pregnancy i gained almost 50lbs! and i felt like i looked like a beluga whale! thank you Lord they’re all gone in a month… and still losing ang likoooooooooot ni athan. nakakahilo! :hypnotize:
