Checklist #2: Baby Stuff

If you look back at my previous posts about strollers you will realize how much effort and time we put into looking for the perfect one.  There was just so much to consider and having lots of choices out there did not help in the selection.  Furthermore, being very particular about having the features and functionalities we wanted to be in that stroller made choosing even more difficult.  Ah well, I am just glad that the search is over.  I am very happy with what we bought.  I am very excited to use it and now will have to look at the many other things that we need to purchase for baby’s arrival.

LARGER ITEMS:

Car seat

Stroller

Playpen with Baby Diaper Changing table

Baby bath

Diaper bag/Nappy bag including change mat

Night light

Very comfortable chair for night-time feeding

DIAPERING: (Disposable)

2 pkts Newborn size

Disposable wipes

Baby ointment/barrier cream to prevent rash

CLOTHING: (We inherited so much from Diyel, that I just purchased 1 set out of the full lot!)

6 Onesies (lightweight, short sleeve, poppers over diaper area)

4 Sleepers/Grow suits (long sleeve, and legs, with poppers opening over diaper area - weight depends on climate)

6 Pairs socks or booties (booties tend to fall off all the time)

5 Baby Sleepers or nightgowns

2 Newborn hats (depending on climate)

2 Washable bibs

Cardigans (depending on season)

6 Singlet/sleeveless vests/undershirts - for hotter climates

Outing clothes (preferably don’t have to be pulled over the head)

Receiving blankets (lightweight blankets)

Swaddling blankets (cotton or muslin)

2 Blankets (according to season)

Beddings / sheets

BATHING SUPPLIES:

2 Soft washcloths

2 Soft towels (with hood if preferred)

“Baby bath” solution or mild soap and shampoo - also OK

Baby hair brush and comb

Baby nail scissors or clippers

Baby massage oil

Cotton wool balls

Cotton bulb buds

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES:

Thermometer

Pacifiers /dummies

Nasal aspirator (ear syringe can also be used)

Baby on Board sign for car

FEEDING:

Breast-feeding

Breast pads

Breast-pump

Sterilizing equipment

Milk storage containers

Bottle-feeding

6 bottles and 6 nipples(teats)

Nipple brush

Bottle brush

Salt for cleaning nipples(teats)

Formula

There’s still so much we need to buy.  We are waiting for the upcoming sale of a baby shop next week.  By then, we will get all the essentials.  The rest, we can keep till after she arrives!
