Meme Day: 7 weird facts about me

Reg tagged me with this meme.  Since I don’t want to disappoint her with not doing the meme like I did with the other ones, I had to do some thinking…  This is what I came up with.

Now, the facts:

1.       FRENCH FRIES: I have a crazy fascination for French fries.  I love to dip it in cheese, sour cream, chocolate sundae, ice cream, mayonnaise with ketchup, garlic cream, chilli (meat), etc.  Of course not all at once but French fries is my most versatile food… hehehe.  I know it’s not good for me so whenever I can have them, I have them with some yummy sauce.

2.       CALAMANSI: Calamansi (lime from Philippines) is my ‘pampagana’.  That means that if I have this on the side, I will most definitely have a very good appetite for that meal especially if the food to match it with is longganisang bawang poured with it or some beef bulalo or fried fish.  When I have calamansi next to me, it’s guaranteed that I will be eating quite a lot that time. Hehehe.

3.       PERFECT BITE: Just like Reg (the one who tagged me for this meme) I have a thing for having the ‘perfect bite’.  I prefer that every bite I have would have all the ingredients that give that dish it’s full flavor.  For example, a single bite would have a bit of rice, of meat and of veggies.  I just want to taste the dish as a whole and savor it that way.  It can be a struggle to fit them all in a spoon but I somehow manage.  I am not as great as she is though that I end up with the same amount of ‘perfect bite’ in the end but if you observe, from the beginning I would be dividing the portions so that I will have the maximum ‘perfect bites’ for that dish.

4.       MESSY: I can never feel at ease working in a messy working area or room.  I remember the last time we re-arranged our room in the office and I came in the office that morning with everything so messy.  I didn’t just find a corner to sit, plug my laptop and work.  I fixed and organized my working area, those that were surrounding me and since I wasn’t so busy I fixed the whole room until I was finally satisfied and can work.  I hate seeing things unnecessarily lying around too so if I see it, I will put it where it should be. I simply can’t stand mess.

5.       NEW: I have thing for trying out new things but once I learn how it works and there is nothing else for me to discover, I get bored with it and leave it.  It is not a wonder that I have tried many things but mastered none.  Once the novelty and excitement is gone, I am off looking for new experiences and new things to learn.  Otherwise, it feels like a burden to keep me doing the same thing and I get irritable.  Thank goodness I am not like that with people. Hahahaha.

6.       COLD TURKEY: I can go cold-turkey on anything or even anyone.  If I am told to diet due to weight or sugar problem like recently, I would take the strict route and follow the dietitian’s instructions to the list.  Even though, I strongly crave for ice cream, chocolates, etc. I would not AT ALL have a bite of them until I know that I have surpassed the test and can have 1 pea-size piece a day.  When we were trying to conceive, after reading that coffee and chocolate could be a factor that we couldn’t conceive, I totally skipped it.  Until now, I haven’t had coffee and that would probably be already a almost a year. (I’m definitely having coffee after I deliver !!! I so miss it!!!)  I guess this is why I can’t have any addictions because I can suddenly just cut it off when I realize that it is not good for me.

7.       BALANCE: I have a thing for keeping things in balance, like, if I work really hard, I have to be pampered or indulge just as much.  I always believe that we should always keep a balance in life and treat ourselves every once in a while.  What is the point of working so hard when you can’t even enjoy the fruits of your labour ?!  For example, I have gone on a diet that whole week, I would save a day or moment when I would enjoy a cup of my favorite ice cream or dessert…. hubby calls it, « my indulgences ».  It will not be excessive but just enough for me to enjoy every spoonful of that experience.  If I realize that I over indulged somewhere, I will ensure that an equivalent sacrifice or dieting will be taken to compensate for it. J
