Techie Gadgets & Me

Hmmm… if you’re a sales rep, you would probably make the assumption… “oh she will buy gadgets that are pretty & girly…and would believe everything I say about the product.”

WRONG!!!

Before I step into an Electronics store… I would already know what I want and would just like to have a feel of it to put the icing on top of my research.

Well, I’m not your SMS & calls only type of person. I am a multi-tasking addict who likes gadgets that let me do so many things and provide it in the highest quality.

I can be impulsive in my other purchases but it’s the techie stuff that I have to do a thorough research first prior to spending even a cent on it. Hey! If the gadget is worth the money, I wouldn’t be hesitant to spend more. ;)

So, what is it that I look for & do before I make my gadget purchase…..

1. AESTHETICS: It has to look good! It has to reflect my personality!

For example: Sony Ericson P1 based on online research, provides a great quality of performance and lots of features BUT it absolutely lacks on the looks department. Hindi ko sya masitmura! So, sad to say, kahit maganda sya on the specs side…hindi ko sya bibilhin.

2. SPECS: It has to have some “High Tech” capabilities! Latest improvements or new features are a major plus!

For example: Sony Ericson W910i, based on online research, is way so pretty!!! Check out the red hot one number! It even has the slide design which I absolutely love….BUT it has the basic phone features. I guess I am looking for more than a basic phone but a PDA phone instead. Oh and the camera is just 2 Megapixels…that is so behind! Hahaha. My current phone is not even 1 Mega..oh but that’s a TOTALLY different story!!!

3. PERFORMANCE: It has to REALLY PERFORM!!! Best battery life, fast processing, ergonomic buttons…etc.

4. COMPROMISE: Of course, there is no PERFECT gadget, therefore, I will compare those that stand out and see on which feature I am willing to compromise on. If it’s not so major for me, I’m sure I can adjust to it.

5. COMPARE: Compare those on top of my list to each other. I base this on thorough online research of reviews, specs and technical info. You can also put in this the canvassing that I do prior to purchase.

I do this for all my phone purchases since my electric blue “soap-looking” Motorola phone when I decided NEVER to purchase on looks alone.

I did this too before I purchase my CANON 400D. That took ages!!! I had to go through the images & in-depth review of the cameras I was looking at…it then came to a head-to-head competition between Canon 400D & Nikon D80. I also considered the financial side..upto future purchase of its accessories and how worthwhile is the spending based on my current status as a photographer hobbyist.

SHEESH!!! Reading this… I realize how much I put into a purchase of one thing. This is definitely something I got from Papi.

I absolutely love compact things that does so much.  I am just techie! :nerd:
