Spring Cleaning in Summer

Last weekend, hubby and I scheduled the full organizing and sorting of all our stuff in the room. With baby’s arrival coming close, we realized our need to buy a new cabinet to give way for baby’s things. Before we go and purchase a new cabinet, we needed to sort our things our first. We went through all our clothes and set aside those that we have not been using for a while. In the end I was able to compile 2 ½ large bags of clothes that I don’t use anymore. This is not because I am preggy!

Finally, I have let go of favourite pieces that I don’t really wear or are actually crying out loud to be replaced. I felt such a liberating feeling after that. I was able to free up so much space to put baby’s current stuff (the hand-me-downs from Diyel and Karen) and have space for more clothes for me! Woohoo! This means shopping! Hahahaha!

I transferred our shoes in a shelf by the hallway and organized it Maeyo way. This meant that I organized hubby’s shoes where all black coloured shoes together, then the whites, silver and high cut ones. :kikay: Since I didn’t have as many shoes, I put all my shoes in 1 shelf and just used a cloth divider I bought from IKEA ages ago. At least, my fancy shoes don’t get dirty…hehehehe. I was able to discard some shoes as well. Really, I keep shaking my head telling myself “what dust collectors and space hoggers these are!”.

After the clothes and shoes, I went straight to the Papers. Gosh! This I had loads to sort. I remember dumping papers into a small cabinet telling myself “I will sort them accordingly someday.” Finally, that someday arrived and I discarded maybe 5 medium sized bags of junk! I did this last Saturday and Yesterday. The amount of paper I accumulated is mind-boggling! Ah well.

Tonight, I will be sorting out one of my camera box. I’m sure there are junk there too.

I absolutely love organizing things. I am OCD like that but nothing extreme.

Wha? You don’t think you’ll ever fit into them again???? Even after you lose the baby weight?? WOW that’s a LOT!!

It’s not that I will not fit into them again, but they are clothes I haven’t used for a while. Plus, I added in those that are “crying” to be replaced by new stuff. It’s a great way to get a fresh new look after the baby arrives. hehehe.

Mind you! There are still lots of clothes left. I stored those for post-natal wearing. hehhe

Heheh do you think it’s a Pinay thing to have so much clothes? Or a girl thing? LOL everytime I clean out my closet I take out so much but I still have SO much left!! lol

Definitely a girl thing!!! hahahaha. And still we complain “I don’t have anything to wear!!!!”

That’s the single-most mind-boggling line we say. I am definitely guilty of saying it.
