For as long as I can remember, I have been trying to put a certain routine or system to manage my life. I have tried many. Succeeded in some and others… well, I just started them. That’s all it was. I guess I have a serious case of what Pinoy call « Lingas Kugon ». This is a person’s tendency to start things while they are exciting and once the sizzle stops, leaves it for something new and exciting. Gosh ! I am terribly guilty of this ! I definitely won’t say that I do not have the discipline to make things work. Sheesh ! I can go cold turkey on anything I put my mind into !!! I’ve done that many times. I would even challenge myself by putting myself in a situation where it becomes harder to resist to test myself. Sadist ei ?!
Yet… I still haven’t found any system to keep as a habit. I know someone who is amazing at this. My sis. She has such a healthy routine and keeps at it too without a problem. She wakes up early in the morning. Drinks her milk. Make breakfast. Be ready to work on time. Eat cereals when we reach the office. Sheesh ! I think I can only do that once and then the next day, it will definitely be different !!! Waaahhh !!!
My greatest aspiration right now is to be a successful homemaker (a loving wife & super mother). In order to get anywhere close to that I will have to create a routine that would benefit me and my family enormously. I cannot live on whims and moods anymore. I really would love to pursue cooking. I want to apply creativity into it. Oh and hopefully impress hubby who is an amazing cook ! So without a certain routine or system, this will not be achievable. ?
I have tried keeping To Do Lists. You should see what I do at work. My colleague said, it looks like a lesson plan. Hahaha. Unfortunately, time comes when I loose interest in it and it ends up « something to do later on ». I keep a list of reminders in my phone too but sometimes I put it in a sort of « snooze » and then forget about it. BAD !! BAD !!
So let’s see. Right now, I would like to create a Routine that I will make 10 times the effort to keep and create a habit of. I thought that letting some people (my blog readers specifically :D) know about it will help me remain working on it.
It takes 3 weeks to create a habit so I will need the whole of April for this Challenge. Wish me luck !!!
