Abu Dhabi road trip & 27 Dresses

Last Sunday hubby & I went to Abu Dhabi to renew his passport. This could’ve been done in Dubai if only they won’t take 2 months to do it. (I heard that the Philippine Consulate in Dubai has a backlog of 2,000 passports for renewal because they only received half of the passports they ordered in Philippines. Apparently, it will take 2 months for them to deliver it here!)

Anyway, we left really early that morning so that we can finish this errand immediately and do some touring of Abu Dhabi. Below you will see how foggy it was that morning. Well, it was ok because hubby & I stopped by the bakery to get some breakfast on the way. So we enjoyed the drive. :kikay:

Funny because the moment we exited to go to Abu Dhabi city it was bumper to bumper traffic. Hubby & I were not even sure whether we took the correct turn. We figured that since this one is traffic, it is most probably leading to the city then. Sheesh! I never realized that Abu Dhabi has become traffic as well.  It was at this time that I took out my phone and opened Nokia maps.  Finding the Philippines Embassy was quite easy because of it.  So needless to say, we got there in no time.  :groovy:

It’s hubby’s first time to visit. Not like there is much to see. In fairness though, Abu Dhabi has improved a lot since my last visit there years ago. The Corniche were adorned with modern structures in forms of sheds, fountains and benches, even the flowers were just right. The roads were well done too.

From the embassy, we headed to Marina Mall.  To my surprise, that place has become so much bigger that when I last saw it (when it was newly opened).  Now they have a CN Tower look-a-like as a part of the mall.  It just had coffee shops at it’s foot. Marina Mall Marina Mall on the of the CN Tower-lookalike feature Snowland - coming soon!

I wonder what was on top.  While strolling, we saw that they were building their equivalent of Ski Dubai called Snowland.

Unfortunately, the expected 1 day processing of the passport became 24 hours wait, so we decided to head home early.  It was unusually hot that day too so I was feeling kinda tired…plus being my first day I wasn’t in the best of conditions to go around anyway.

It was past noon time when we reached Dubai.  So stopped by Ibn Battuta and had some lunch.  Since it is still DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival) there were promotions and hubby won a free Kebab platter!  :partey: Gosh! It was lovely and we got so stuffed that we wanted to walk more than anything.  Lessen the bloated feeling.  :suka:

Until… we reached the Cinema… and ended up watching… 27 Dresses

It was so cute!!! I loved it! hihihihi.

Good afternoon, and God be with you. I am Mrs. Nelia L Pasobello of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. I need help. I don’t know who to ask or where to go but I’m desperate. I am 41 years old and I am suffocating under a mountain of debt. I have long overdue between 100,000 and 150,000 pesos on various loans and credit card usages including financial charges, legal fees and I am getting farther and farther behind

This was happened last March 2006 my officemate Mrs. Cecelia C. Josue asked me a favor that her sister-in law Mrs. Elsie Josue Tamayo in need of money for her placement fee for her visit visa for Dubai, I loaned in our company for almost 90,000 pesos including the interest as she promised me to pay for two yrs. but unfortunately Cecelia Josue intentionally failed to pay, even after repeated demands for payment. I also wrote Elsie Tamayo often thru Yahoo Messenger but never answer my messages. Elsie Tamayo is now in Dubai but i have no information about her specific address since march 2006.

I have two kids. I received only 1,000 pesos in every payroll due to the deduction of my salary loan, it can not sustained for our daily needs so I forced to lend or used my credit card. I just want to live a normal life and have some relief. and better my living situation without needing another person’s income to do it. I am tired of living to work. I want to work to live.

I need your help please help me to find her in Dubai thru Embassy and mandated her to pay her dues to me. Her Yahoo Messenger and email address is elsie_josue@yahoo.com
I also asking your financial assistance because I received a final demand letter to settle my dues until April 25, 2008. Failure to settle my dues maybe penalized for imprisonment.

Looking for your immediate attention in this matter. Thank you God bless you.

    Nelia L. Pasobello
