Black Sin

I shouldn’t have chosen you.

Instead, I should’ve opted for the plain clarity of a natural drink

Yet, when she mentioned your name

My heart skipped a beat

and my lips repeated your name without thinking.

As he served you to me

I was like a child filled with glee

In absolute excitement of the promised excitement.

As I let you take the narrow passage

Where you invade my taste buds with such sweetness

That brings my mind into a trance of bliss

Oh how the perfect blend of chill, flavour and texture

Enhance such a simple experience.

I dare not ask what you are made from

Nor wonder why your red cousins remain

on the glass floor.

I know I shouldn’t have

But I cannot deny that this Black Gulaman experience

is worth all the sugar high after a 4 km walk under the sun.

This is what too much sun… hunger and lack of sleep can do!
