What a day!!!
This day has been one major adventure. For one, the rain didn’t stop all day and night… and so did the traffic. We were stuck in traffic for more than an hour on the way to work and got there at 9:45am!!! It was absolutely pouring all day, so it is not surprising this became a common sight all over Dubai.
Our story was not the worst I heard. I have an officemate to turned back home after being stuck in traffic for 3 hours!!! She didn’t get far.
The whole of Dubai was in a chaos where all roads were jampacked bumper to bumper from morning as most struggle through flooded roads. The radio stations even said that people should text in only the roads that do not have a problem as it seems they mentioned problems from all routes!
Apparently, 10,000 residents called emergency hotlines this morning just to ask for a safe route to work.
On the way home, we had to start off early as we had to passby get a frame and an urgent print job. We took some videoclips so that I can share with you what we saw… I felt like I was in Philippines during the storms.
Here’s one. View the second video clip here.

After the second video clip, the unexpected happened… as soon as we got off the flooded areas and into Sheikh Zayed road, my jeep suddenly stopped. We couldn’t make it start. We were in the middle of Sheikh Zayed road!!! It was already traffic!!! waaahhhh!!! Karen called her Haku and I called my dad (Papi). The jeep started for a while… and then again it suddenly stopped…in the middle of SZR! Again! When it started again, we took the quickest beeline to the nearest petrol station, just in the corner. Thank God! Karen was teasing my jeep saying that it is not a part of the family if it leaves us hanging in the middle of nowhere… well, as any of our cars, my jeep got us to the petrol station safely. :) Kapamilya pa rin! :) There, Karen & I waited at the Starmart for Don. Don looked at the engine. My dad was right. The sparkplug must’ve gotten wet. So we decided to leave the jeep and head home with Don.
At 9:30pm, Hubby & I braved the freezing cold and came back for PJ! We got home safely and without probs before 10pm.
So exhausting… nevertheless, I enjoyed it. Karen & I had fun going through that sea-like flooded roads. :)
Hope you got home dry & safe. :) Good night!!!

Oh wow! See, I KNEW I should’ve gone out yesterday so I had an interesting story to tell! But alas, with my bandaged leg that absolutely must NOT get wet, I was ordered by the bf to stay put. :(
Glad you guys got home safely!!
