My take on this movie? (Disclaimer: Opinions are my own and based on my own experience and thoughts. I do not claim any expertise on this matter. I am just simply noting how I take this movie when I watched it)
It must’ve been the hype that was given to this movie that gave me the high expectations. As with most high expectations… I was disappointed with this movie.
Yes, the effects, the shots, the idea and even Will Smith’s acting was really not bad. (We were lucky to get a hold of a very good copy before this is shown in the cinemas here next weekend.)
While I was watching it, there were many times when I wondered where is the story going to… when will the climax of the movie be… when will the scene where Will is surrounded by the monsters (as seen in the trailer)… THEN… it ended! Huh?!
Parang Bitin. Ah well… Good thing, this wasn’t showing yet when we watched National Treasure last 1st Jan. That was a good one! Like Indiana Jones type…hehehe. Need to watch part 1! (sly grin)
Anyway, Golden Compass and this gave me the same feeling. Disappointed and quite dragging. They both had big potentials. Sayang.
