Maeyonnaise

Last 6th December I received a message that I won a Consolation price at the Tic Tac Toe Raffle in church (fundraising for the Mass Wedding Project of the Filipino Community). Well, I haven’t won anything from there.

“This is a good start to my Millionaire dream.”, I thought.

I only collected this price from Fr. Zaki’s office the other night. My Envelope was number 5, my ticket had a 5 in it and I got 50 dirhams. The moment I got home, I immediately put it in our piggy bank na cat :p.

What’s funny was, on the way home from Simbang gabi, we stopped by the Petrol station kasi wala na akong gas. Mami bought some burger from Burger King and I took some Actimel drinking yogurt. I was surprised when hubby said that it was bigger than the usual ones I buy. “It only comes in 1 size”, I thought. Then, he raised a bet. He was just so sure of himself. He asked me how much and I said, “Ok, 10 dirhams.” He said, “Why not five thousand dirhams?!” I was strangely bewildered at why he would raise the stakes so high when I totally know that Actimel only comes in that size. “We drink it almost every morning before work.”

I kept quiet. He was doing trashtalk na. Mami also took my side. She, with Papi, also used to buy it and drink it. I remained quiet as I normally would in this situations. You could say that I am using my poker face to deal with it. He thought that I was unsure of my bet and even said, “Tignan natin anong excuse mo pag natalo ka na.”

Natatawa ako na naasar na nung huli. I drove straight to Spinneys and off with him inside. I bought another 2 bottles of Actimel and kept taunting him “Pulubi ka boy!!!” I laughed such a wicked laugh all the way home. I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t breathe.

So will I be 500,000 richer before next Spring? We never know. I got 50 raised to 5,000 in just a few hours…. I could be 5 Million richer before our 1st year Church wedding anniversary!
