Blessing Run report…

Yesterday, I did try my head on mass Blessing rounds at the mall, as I mentioned in my previous post Blessing Run.  What a challenge that was!!! What I loved about it is puts you in a different state than usual.  You are far mo aware of your own emotions and surroundings.  It’s definitely not easy to always choose to be in blessed/blessing state.  There are so many negative vibes out there that if you’re not careful, it can tip off your peaceful state.  I guess, being more aware of yourself makes it somewhat easier to choose.

I had the toughest time when while attending simbang gabi, there were 2 ladies who persistently chatted and chatted about this and that - so loudly too.  Very very distracting, ill-disciplined and disrespectful of them to do so.  What’s more annoying was they were manhid that they were being devil’s advocates to those who came there to be in prayer and celebrate the mass.  Believe me, I struggled to really be in blessing state.  At some point, I felt that blessing the people there worked coz there would be silence…peace…reverence.  Then, I guess when it wears off… balik na naman sila.  even my friend, Liz who came for her first simbang gabi this year got irritated by these two. Sigh.  If only I wasn’t in the blessing state (or struggling to remain in it) I would’ve done what I did the night before.  I told off a 3 people who were chatting & laughing so loudly during the mass.  Sa totoo lang.  Sad to say, that from observation… Pinoy lang ang ganito sa simbahan.  Mga pasaway! Mind you! I’ve seen it in all ages & gender. Super Sigh. I also observed and wondered why when rules are applied by foreigners, we are strong followers but the moment you put a fellow Pinoy in that seat… all that goes down the drain and we tend to adapt a more ill-disciplined state.  Sigh.  Of course, I am generalizing or stereotyping but it’s just an observation.  Actually, in the 5 nights I attended Simbang gabi… you can say that 90-95% are actually there to be a part of the simbang gabi.  It’s just the 5-10% that are there “just for the sake of completing the simbang gabi”.

I will try the Blessing Run again today.  Let’s see if ‘practice makes perfect’.

Anyway, I have an even tougher challenge for today to add to this:

Today’s exercise:

Quietly confront your own inner belief system. Ask yourself if you
are honestly willing to suspend every judgment, every condemnation,
every necessity to make the world go “your way”. Today’s
affirmation allows you to pose the question simply and directly.
Repeat the affirmation, and then wait for the answer to arise from
within. Record your answer and any subsequent questions, doubts or
concerns it may to mind in your Blessing Way Journal.  There are no
right or wrong answers to this question or to any of the questions
posed in the Blessing Way Challenge. The purpose of this exercise,
as well as all others in this series of lessons is simply to make
you more aware of where you are in your own thinking processes, so
please do not fret. Just answer the question as honestly as you can
and record the answer and any other thoughts it might bring to mind.

Today’s affirmation:

“What if I am willing to bless my world, no matter what I see?”

Today’s quote:

“The key to the success of blessing is that it acknowledges
everything from the one who hurts, to the one who is hurting.”
– Gregg Braden
